What was supposed to be a first team friendly ended up being quite a mixed Genesis side. With a few new faces and fitness lacking we wern't expecting the fast flowing, relentles attacking Genesis performance we've become so accustomed to over the years. Instead it was a steady performance with many positives coming out. Ryan and Ross (Debut) Patman played up front together and played very well. Ian Scarrott and Ian Peebles also made their Genesis debuts for the club and there were excellent performances from the two center backs Pete Daniels and Karl Wideman who ended up sharing the MOM award. It was a close game with Ashby getting thier noses infornt and then Genesis getting level with a cross from Jez finished cooly by Pete Carlill. Ashby again went ahead but back came Genesis with another through ball by Jez, this time Ryan Patmann finishing nicely into the bottom corner. With wobbly legs Genesis struggled to maintain the tempo and Ashby grabbed a goal in the last 10mins.
