Genesis 1st 6 - 6 Sileby Saints
We started well and were up for this game, but within 15mins Sileby had gone 2-0 up with 2 great goals from "Joe H". A 1st touch and strike left defenders and keeper struggling. But we fought back with a flick from Tyler, Jez managed to poke the ball in. Jez again finished from at leate 2 yards out after some confusion between defender and their keeper. A ball in from Joe gave Parker a chance to finsish which he did. Joe then got his first goal for the club after a corner from Jez. 4-2 up and cruising. Sileby then came bak into the game and managed to go 5-4 ahead. Tyler was then fouled in the box and he converted the penalty with ease. When then sneaked ahead with a ball from Marco to Tyler who finshed into the bottom corner. 6-5 with 10mins to go, could this be the day we eventualy beat Sileby? Then, a long shot from Sileby took a deflection and crept into the corner. Typical,  Gutted, we battled well and should have won the game. Papa got man of the match.

Genesis 2nds 0 - 1 Long Clawson
Genesis Reserves suffered their eight defeat of the season in heart-breaking fashion after a poor referring decision led to Long Clawson being awarded a harsh 86th-minute penalty, which was duly converted. The team would have been gutted to come off with just a point after dominating for most of the game, but the loss was compounded by bookings for Heazle and Proctor, the latter which came, oddly, after he'd shaken the referees hand at the end of the game, a decision which summed up the referee's day. The loss of Jon Daniels after just a few minutes meant that Matt Wells got his first taste of competitive action, along with Jimmy Barnard who started his first game in the centre of the midfield. Genesis started well on a good pitch, making light of the blustery conditions, knocking the ball about well. Baines dragged the ball wide after a good exchange of passes with North and Barnard. Wells also went close on a couple of occasions. A tense ten minute spell where Genesis soaked up a lot of pressure was weathered and we went in 0-0. Genesis again dominated in the second half, with Heap going close from a Barnard corner, one of many delivered dangerously from both sides. Webster gave way for Potten and Wells was substituted for Hattersley, but all changes were to no avail before the referee's strange decision to award a penalty for an apparent foul by Kirkpatrick. Mam of the match was Jimmy Barnard for an impressive first game, closely followed by Matt North who dazzled with some Hollywood football - some sublime touches and pieces of skill that left defenders floundering. Mark Heazle also got one vote. Thanks also go to Paskinho, Ginn and Pete Daniels for braving the cold and making the drive.
