Genesis FC 0 - 1 Sileby
This week saw the visit of Sileby Saints to the mighty Lodge farm, Genesis FC history against the Saints has proved so far unsuccessful with no wins registered against them, in 5 years, and that's how it turned out again. Genesis started the game brightly playing with the wind and could and should have been 2 or 3 nil up at half time after completely out playing Sileby. Sadly none of the efforts found the net (half time 0-0). The second half against the wind levelled out the game with Genesis having to defend that bit deeper due to the strong wind but not really having many memorable effort against but still creating chances at the other. As the game was heading for a draw sileby got a massive slice of luck with a cross that shot into the back post from near the corner flag. Two late bursting runs by Tyler and Ian created free kicks in dangerous areas but nothing came of them (FT 0-1). Genesis's run of no wins against the Saints continues but today's result was not a true reflection of the effort and good play by everyone, anyone of the defence could of been MOM but in the end it went to Sam Baines for his great display at centre back keeping Joe Hattesley out of the game.
Genesis 2nds 3 - 0 Markfield "A"
Genesis 2nds first win of the season. A great performance with goals from Pete Baines, Pete Carlill and Ross Patman. Assists from Pete Carlill and Pete Baines and Andy Curran. MoM was Pete Daniels. As the team starts gelling more, hopefully this will be the start of a nice run.
