Genesis FC 6 - 3 Whitwick
A nice pitch with a flat surface allowed Genesis to play some great football. In the first 30mins we played some of our best football this season, closing tight and passing and moving. We pulled away to 3-0 with goals from Chris Ford, Mike Tyler and the first goal for Genesis for Matt Kerry, a superb run forwards control and finish after a quick freekick from Alex Cuthbert. We struggled to keep the tempo and domination, but still played some good football in patches. Whitwick fought bak and pulled back to 3-2. We stayed committed and focused but struggled to get hold of the ball as we did in the first half. Andy Parker came on at half time and scored twice after some hard work from Chris Ford and Papa. Chris also got another to secure a good win 6-3. MoM Jez Cromie.
Genesis Res 6 - 5 Birstall Old Boys Res
Genesis went 2-0 up and then 6-2 up but managed to somehow make it a close finish with Birstall coming back to 6-5. Genesis held on a well deserved win. Martin McDonald scored 3, Jon Daniels 1, Pete Carlill 1 and a goal for John Stapeford, his first for the club. A great debut performance from Chris Coward helped secure the win, he also got an assist. Assists also from Ross, Appa 2, Pete Carlill 1 and Jon Daniels. MoM Martin McDonald.
