New Fair Trade Kit

Genesis F.C. – the first “Fair Trade Football Club in the country ?”
Loughborough based Genesis F.C. is a big step closer to becoming the first “fair-trade Football club” in the country. With help from
sponsors Studio-40 and Fair Deal Trading, Genesis F.C. has just bought a new fair trade Football kit as well as Fair trade training tops. Genesis F.C. first got involved with fair trade 18 months ago when it bought fair trade training and match balls. At the time it wasn’t possible to buy kit’s or training tops but recently Fair Deal Trading have made this possible.
Jez Cromie the Chairman of the club said “This is another great step forward for the club and reflects something of the values this club is based on. Using fair trade kit, training tops and balls means that more people are getting treated and paid fairly for the work they do. The work environment is managed and medical care for the workers is made possible. This is actually a relatively small step for the club but makes a big difference to peoples lives over in Pakistan”.
Due to the rapid growth of fair trade, the fair trade foundation has not yet officially written the criteria for a "Fair Trade Football Club". So when it does, Genesis F.C. hopes to be one of the first officially recognised Fair Trade Football clubs.
