Genesis 1 - 2 Sutton Bonnington

With a wedding claiming a few players and a match only two days before, Genesis’s strength in depth was demonstrated with a strong though unfamiliar starting line-up. In the first half we played well, looking relaxed in possession and keeping the opposition at bay comfortably, and with around twenty minutes played, Matt Kerry lofted the ball beautifully over the goalkeeper to finish off a well worked move. Shortly afterwards Sutton Bonnington equalised from a corner, however it was against the run of play and at half time we felt like we would go on and win the game. However it wasn’t to be: the second half saw Genesis concede from another corner, and from then on we never really got going again. Final score 2-1. Well done to Nige Wilman and Malcolm McDonald who both had great games helping us out, and to Gary Offord and Papa, who formed a solid partnership at the back.
