Quorn baptist pay tribute to Jamie Burdett

I recently recieved this from Brendan Coulson who played football with Jamie Burdett for four years at Quorn Baptist Football Club. He wanted to pay a belated tribute to Jamie Burdett on behalf of QBFC.

I was the captain of Quorn Baptist football club, Brendan Coulson (Until the conspiracy to replace me with Ryan Patman – cheers Ryan). We had some of the stars who have played and currently still play for Genesis, Alex Ferrari, Macro, Ryan Patman, Simon Brown and of course Jamie Burdett.

I played football with Jamie for four years; he was a true gentleman, very clever, quiet and had an extremely great sense of humor.
I wanted to make this statement on behalf of all the Old Quorn Baptist football club, most of the old team was there at Jamie’s funeral and we all felt so sad to have lost our team mate.

Jamie on occasion was known as Daz white as he was the only player to have clean sparkling white shorts at the end of the game. No surprise - he was by far the fastest player we had ever come across.

Jamie always pulled it out the bag for the Quorn team, many times within the last seconds of the game Jamie would run like lighting down the right wing and belt one in the bottom corner – I can still see his smile.

Jamie you were a truly amazing man and hopefully one day we able to play a game of football against the apostles.

Love QBFC
